Christopher F. Tirotta, M.D., M.B.A.
CEO/Chairman of the Board
Dr. Tirotta’s impressive 25-year career spans both the medical and business arenas. He is the Director of Cardiac Anesthesia of the Congenital Heart Insitute of Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (APH), Staff Pediatric Anesthesiologist at MCH and APH and a Clinical Instructor at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Our story begins when Dr. Christopher F. Tirotta, MD, MBA, board certified pediatric clinician and director of cardiac anesthesiology at Miami Children’s Hospital, and advocate on children’s health and safety matters, founded Kidz-Med in 1993 in order to provide unparalleled technology and medical expertise to parents with the goal of making child-rearing challenges easier. And in 2004, Dr. Tirotta merged with American Scientific in order to supply the market with purpose-driven products for kids.
He has been interviewed as a medical and business expert on various TV affiliates, web casts and road show events, and has published several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and led many clinical drug/device trials as a principal investigator.
Graduating Cum Laude with a degree in biochemistry from Cornell University, he received his M.D. from New York University School of Medicine, his MBA from Columbia University, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology and of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Jason Roth
Senior Vice President and Board Member
Since 1993, Mr. Roth, a successful entrepreneur and marketing specialist in the medical supply industry, has quickly established a successful track record of acquiring, growing and selling businesses – mostly in medical supply industries — for multiples of their annual sales figures.
Mr. Roth has participated in brand launches generating revenue in excess of $300 million dollars globally. Notably, he has served as marketing consultant to many multinational brands, from tourism to Fortune 500 companies, helping to create new advertising, marketing and sales campaigns.
He has multiple established ties to retail (consumer packaged goods) and medical industry globally.
Thomas W. Materna, M.D., M.B.A.
Board Member
Thomas W. Materna, M.D. is an ophthalmologist in the state of New Jersey. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts in 1966 and his medical degree in 1971 from the State University of New York’s Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn. He did his surgical internship at New York Hospital’s Cornell University Medical Center from 1971 through 1972.
Dr. Materna saw active duty as a general medical officer in the United States Navy, and was stationed in both Southeast Asia and Washington, D.C. He participated in family practice residency from 1974 through 1975 at King’s County Hospital, Brooklyn, and an ophthalmology residency from 1975 through 1978 at the New York Eye, Ear, and Nose Hospital. He received his MBA from Rutgers University in 1991. As a member of several professional societies, one being The Society of Medical Consultants for the Armed Forces, he also served on the Board of Directors at Dezomark, a medical company in Lviv, Ukraine.
Felix Reznick, Esq.
Board Member
In private practice at the Law Offices of Felix B. Reznick, Mr. Reznick is experienced in various types of law including corporate, employment, trust and estates, bankruptcy, real estate and general business. Having represented a diverse array of clientele including companies in the areas of media, film, Internet, software, cosmetic, food services, retail, and commercial real estate, he has also worked with investment banks and funds and not-for-profit foundations.
Mr. Felix Reznick studied law at both Boston College Law School and the New York University School of Law, receiving his law degree from Boston College Law School (J.D. 1998), and was a University and Dean’s Scholar at the New York University Stern School of Business, receiving his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance (B.S., cum laude, 1994). Since then, Mr. Reznick practiced law at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and Rosenman & Colin LLP.
Nicholas Quear
Production/Logistics Manager
Nicholas Quear’s background includes a well-rounded blend of graphic design, strategic operations and supply management, which makes him a valuable asset to ASR since he wears many hats. He started out his 18-year career in lithography and graphic arts. While with the Army Corps of Engineers as a Non Commissioned Officer for 6 years, he trained and coordinated military explosive operations, supervised activities of policy, risk management, and strategic issues and was integral in Operation Enduring Freedom. From there, he went on to manage the supply chain for the largest auto restoration outfit in Colorado, and then advanced to becoming the production and warehouse manager for Safeguard Medical Technologies.
Marc Massoglia, M.S.
Senior Vice President, Sales
Marc Massoglia is an economist with 20+ years’ sales and marketing experience in business-to-business sales and marketing of medical products, logistics & transportation services, and industrial goods. Marc was the founding partner of a medical solutions company that delivered innovative products and services that support safety, efficiency and environmental stewardship in the vaccine and injectibles marketplace. He has a B.A. in Finance and M.S. in Economics from University of Maryland, and brings extensive experience in organizational management and business-to-business sales including pricing, costing analysis, team building, marketing, sales management, and international business development across many cultures and industry verticals.
As a distinguished speaker on business development, supply chain management and infrastructure development in the US, Trinidad, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico and Vietnam, he has attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Supply Chain Management courses, and intense language training programs in both Mexico and Italy to establish a working knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
Timothy Hart, C.P.A.

Mr. Hart has over thirty years of vast accounting and finance experience to include 10 years with KPMG, one the worlds largest international public accounting firms. Most recently, Mr. Hart expanded his private practice to form R3 Accounting LLC. He has extensive experience dealing with SEC and other regulatory matters, such as initial and secondary public offerings, private placements, formulating responses to various SEC inquiries, compliance with SEC reporting requirements (Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K), dealing with banks, private investors and investment bankers in obtaining debt and/or equity financing, and appearing before the IRS representing clients on IRS audits. He also has widespread experience with mergers and acquisitions, including transactional documentation, back and front office systems implementations for small to medium sized businesses, business consulting with small public and private companies and their executives and various other accounting, finance and tax services. Mr. Hart holds a bachelors degree in Accountancy, Economics and Business Administration from Thomas More College, and has been a certified public accountant since 1984. He is also the immediate past Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for Oakland Park/Wilton Manors and currently sits on their board.
Tracy Sims, M.B.A.
General Manager, China Operations
As a TUV accredited Internal Auditor under ISO13485:2003 and MDD93/42/EEC, over the past 12 years Tracy has been responsible for the sourcing and marketing efforts of companies doing business in China within the education and health and environmental sectors including 5 years with a public listed medical company (BMDi-Tuta Limited) where she held positions as Business Development Manager; General Manager of Operations and Global Outsource Manager being responsible for quality assurance, logistics, sourcing and international trade related matters. Prior to this, she has 7 years experience in China as an Export Manager for a Hong Kong – China Joint Venture in Shenzhen and as the Executive Business Manager for one of the largest private conglomerates operating in Hunan Province, China. Tracy holds a Master of Business Administration from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) at Macquarie University in Sydney.
Eva Liu
Office Manager, China Operations
Eva manages all of the administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of the ASR Shanghai office, and she also supports the General Manager of the China operations.
Patrick O’Leary
President/Partner/Business Manager | The Greenwood Group
With 26 years in the retailer/manufacturer industry, Patrick brings both the formal training of Fortune 100 companies as well as an entrepreneurial spirit from a variety of successful company ownerships. Working on major brands at Bayer & Gillette, as well as serving on advisory boards for small to mid-size brands as a VP at Crossmark, he has been an active participant in the building of businesses. Applying the basics of consumer research & strategic planning to brand opportunities, while employing non-traditional strategies for marketing and sales, he has actively launched successful brands using a variety of platforms and methods. As a Partner at Emerson Group, he served as VP of Sales for ZonePerfect Nutrition. Over a nine-month period, Patrick re-organized the sales team and then assisted in the transition to a new VP of Sales. His work in that capacity, along with key customer management, allowed the company to grow from $8mm to $80+mm and then be sold to Abbott Labs for $165mm.
Tom Hodson
Partner/Business Manager | The Greenwood Group
Tom’s 29-year career began with Bristol-Myers where he quickly rose through the ranks to management in the NY HQ. There, he was involved in strategic planning, management and training for the sales team. With Bristol-Myers and Alberto-Culver, he served as a multi-faceted resource for both the HQ Office teams as well as the sales force. Tom’s expertise was rewarded by Wal-Mart when his team at Cliffstar, a grocery manufacturer of store & national brands, was voted Vendor of the Year. Spending three years in the technology and computer industry as Vice President of Great Lakes Distributors, he gained experience in government contracting and institutional markets. His years as a Vice President at Crossmark serve him well as he assisted numerous niche brand companies in bringing their products to market.
Jeff Penchina
Partner/Business Manager | The Greenwood Group
Jeff began his 30 year career with the Mennen Company where he was quickly promoted into the corporate HQ to design, structure, and run a National Retail Sales Force consisting of 12 District Managers and 80 retail sales representatives. Jeff was then promoted to Director of National Accounts where he managed 40% of the corporate volume in the FDM classes of trade, directing 4 National Account Managers. Jeff then joined Sandoz Pharmaceuticals as Director of National Accounts, where he managed 50% of corporate volume with his field sales managers and a network of broker organizations, including the top 15 Food, Drug and Mass Merchandiser accounts. Jeff then continued his ascent in management by joining Zila Pharmaceuticals as Vice President of Sales where he managed the national selling effort, and oversaw both consumer products in Oral Care as well as the company’s Pharmaceutical brands. Within 3 years, Jeff doubled corporate sales through a combination of expanded distribution and new product entries. Jeff also successfully launched the brands into Canada where he quickly gained 100% full national distribution and achieved record sales volumes.
Rosemarie Wayne
Manager of Administration | The Greenwood Group
Rosemarie brings to Greenwood Group a unique blend of retail management and administrative experience, spanning 28 years. Working in retail management as well as in a buying capacity at PJ Schmitt, Rosemarie was responsible for purchasing and negotiating all HBC categories, including private label. Moving to the sales side of the desk, her time at Keystone and Crossmark involved trade funds management, profitability reporting, sales force communications, human resources and overseeing the customer service department. With Greenwood Group, Rosemarie manages communication and administrative functions.
